The Elsewhere Foundation In 1983, while trying to raise money for the upcoming season, Pocket Opera's management continually received good wishes, polite declines, and was told to look "elsewhere" for funding. It seemed that Pocket Opera had found itself in that space between "too big for community funds" and "too small for civic arts funds." So we looked to our long-time loyal supporters -- our audience -- for much needed assistance and ... the Elsewhere Foundation was born. Their generosity has helped to establish Pocket Opera as an important partner in the Bay Area’s artistic community. Elsewhere Foundation members are those who give $200 or more per year in donations to Pocket Opera. They are recognized through listing in the season programs, advance notice of the upcoming season, priority seating at performances, ability to exchange tickets up to 3 days before performances, members-only celebrations throughout the season, and our undying gratitude.
